Seafoam made the 2026 Best in Marketing Firm list from St. Louis Small Business Monthly, voted by the magazine’s St. Louis readers. The list will run in the magazine’s November 2026 issue.
We’re glad about it, and a little wary of saying so too loudly. Readers voted. Nobody audited our results. So here’s how we’d read a list like this if we were the ones hiring.
What the Best in Marketing Firm list tells you
It tells you that people in St. Louis who read a small business magazine have heard of a firm and had a good enough experience to vote for it. That’s worth something. Reputation in a local market takes years, and it can’t be bought with ad spend.
It doesn’t tell you whether a firm is right for your business. A vote can’t tell you how the firm handles a plateau, what it measures, or who actually does the work.
Questions to ask any best marketing firm in St. Louis
If you’re comparing firms, a list gets you to a shortlist. These get you to a decision:
- Who will be doing the work: the senior person you meet in the first call, or someone you meet in month two?
- How do you report results: in dollars tied to revenue, or in impressions and clicks?
- What do you look at before you recommend anything?
Our answers, since you’d ask: six senior practitioners, no account managers or junior coordinators. Reporting in dollars, not dashboards. And a diagnostic before any prescription, which is why our process starts with Diagnosis & Strategy, a three-month look at what’s leaking and where.
Where Seafoam is coming from
Seafoam is an outsourced marketing department for mid-market companies, based in St. Louis. We’ve been at it for 16 years, and the work behind the business has touched more than $500M in client revenue. Some of the results are on our evidence page, and we’d rather you judge us there than on a magazine list.
Still, a vote from local readers is a nice thing to find in the inbox. Thank you to everyone who voted.
If you’re weighing marketing firms right now
Use the list to build your shortlist, then ask each firm the three questions above and compare the answers side by side. If you’re a mid-market owner who thinks the business is better than its marketing shows, How We Work is the place to see what a conversation with us looks like. If you only want more posts or a one-off campaign, we’re probably not the right call, and we’ll tell you that up front.
