Web Design

There are two failure modes in web design. The first is form without function: beautiful sites that win design awards and don’t produce pipeline. The second is function without form: utilitarian sites that convert at a respectable rate and look like they were built in 2014. The right answer isn’t a compromise between the two. A site that converts well looks credible, and a site that looks credible converts better.

What we do

What's included.

Sites that look as serious as your business is

Visual design that signals credibility to the buyer you actually want, not the buyer your last agency designed for. Typography, photography, hierarchy, motion, and the small craft details that make a site feel like a serious firm built it.

Sites built around revenue

Every page exists for a reason: to qualify, to convert, or to filter. We design from the conversion goal backward, not from the homepage forward. The aesthetic decisions hold up under that scrutiny.

Sites with measurement built in

Every revenue-relevant action on the site (form fills, scheduled calls, content downloads, scroll-depth on key pages), wired to the analytics layer from day one. You don’t guess at what’s working. You read the report.

Sites that handle real volume and load instantly

Page speed, accessibility, mobile performance, SEO and GEO foundations, all handled correctly the first time. A beautiful site that loads in eight seconds is, in revenue terms, a broken site.

Sites you can update without a developer

Content management your marketing coordinator can actually run. We’re not building you a one-of-a-kind monolith that requires us to update a phone number. The CMS choice fits the team that’ll own it.

When it's working

A working website does five things, every day, without anyone touching it.

  • It speaks to one specific buyer. Not all buyers. Not all use cases. The website knows who it’s for, and it knows who it isn’t for, and it tells the truth about both.
  • It moves visitors through a thought sequence. Not a sales pitch. A logical, well-paced sequence of arguments that turns a stranger into someone ready to talk, in the order a buyer actually thinks in.
  • It signals credibility before it asks for anything. The aesthetic, the voice, the proof points, and the people behind the firm are visible early. The form fields come at the end, once the buyer has decided you might be the right firm.
  • It reports its own performance. Every meaningful interaction is wired to revenue. The leadership team has a single dashboard that says, in dollars, what the site produced last month, not what it would have produced if conversions had been better.
  • It evolves. Pages that under-perform get rebuilt. Sections that over-perform get expanded. The site is operated, not finished.

Almost every website we audit is missing at least three of these. Most are missing four. The ones missing all five aren’t failing because the design firm was bad. They’re failing because the website was treated as a project, not a system.

How we approach it.

The approach

Web design at Seafoam is never the first move, because a website built before you know what it’s supposed to convert is a website that has to be rebuilt as soon as you find out.

The diagnostic comes first. Once we know who your best customers are, where they enter, what they need to see to trust you, and what your funnel actually looks like. Then we know what the website needs to do. From there, the site gets designed, built, and instrumented as part of the broader system. The team that built the strategy is the team that builds the site.

The result: a website that looks like it was built by a serious firm for serious buyers, does a specific job, measured against a specific outcome, and lives inside the rest of your marketing infrastructure rather than off to the side.

Where this works best

Web design as part of a Seafoam engagement tends to be the right fit when:

  • Your current site is producing traffic but not converting it.
  • Your sales team can’t use your site to support their pitch, or actively avoids sending prospects to it.
  • Nobody on your team can tell you what each page is supposed to accomplish.
  • The last redesign was three or more years ago and the business has materially changed since.
  • Your site is a few years old and the business has evolved, but you can’t tell whether the website is the bottleneck or whether something else in the operation is the real problem.

What makes this different?

Most web design firms hand you a site and disappear. The site looks good at launch and starts decaying immediately, because nobody is responsible for what it produces.

We don’t. The site we build for you lives inside the engagement. We watch what it produces, every month. We adjust pages that aren’t converting. We rebuild sections when the business shifts. The website becomes a living piece of revenue infrastructure, not a static deliverable, because the team that built it is the team that runs it.

Questions

Can we hire you just to build a website?

No, not because we couldn’t do it, but because we’ve found that a website built without the strategy and measurement underneath it produces predictably bad outcomes. Sites we built in our agency days, before this engagement model, were measurably less effective than sites we build now, because now they sit inside a system that operates them.

What platform do you build on?

Whatever fits the business. We work in WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, custom builds, and headless setups. The platform decision falls out of the diagnostic: who needs to maintain it, what integrations it needs, what scale it has to support. We don’t lead with a platform we’re trying to sell.

How it works

First we find what's leaking. Then we run the fix.

One retainer, scoped to your business. The diagnostic is included.

Phase 1 / 3 months

Diagnosis & Strategy

Customer interviews, fieldwork, and a full audit of your funnel, turned into a prioritized roadmap and a dollar figure for what’s leaking and where.

Phase 2 / Ongoing

The system, running

We run your marketing day to day against the roadmap, adjust as the data comes in, and report against revenue every month.

As the system matures and runs leaner, the goal is to cost you less, not more.
