If you’ve been following the beer scene lately, you may have heard of the SYNEK draft system, which just recently met its Kickstarter goal of $250,000. It started as an idea by Steve Young to improve the way we all drink and acquire beer, especially for those who enjoy home brew. Instead of messing around with bottles that cost more money and require additional space (for consumers and retailers!), the SYNEK system works by storing beer in refillable cartridges. These cartridges get inserted into a machine, similar to a single-serve coffee machine, which can dispense the beer for a draft-like experience right at home.
We’re incredibly excited about their product, and proud that we could be a part of their success! Our team got involved by building and designing both the SynekSystem.com website and their sister site, Craft Conscious. They have since been talked about all over the country and the web, including Business Insider, Esquire, ABC, and Good Morning America.
Designing the SYNEK website
Much like his idea to transform beer drinking, Steve also wanted something simple but efficient for his website. We opted for a yellow color scheme that he liked, along with large, easy to understand graphics that convey why the SYNEK system is a great idea for home brewers and lovers of craft beer. In addition, we developed an e-mail signup system that allows interested customers to join a waiting list with a built in ranking system. As customers share their unique referral link, they can move up the waiting list and pass other users to be among the first to get the product.
What’s next for SYNEK? They’re communicating with breweries across the globe to support refilling of cartridges and to make it easier for customers to get their favorite beers poured right at home. We wish them the best of luck, and can’t wait to try it out!
