Profile of Matt Lodge - Digital Marketing Analyst

Matt Lodge: Strategist

I am a Strategist at Seafoam Media. It’s my job to convert measurable data into actionable results for our clients.

I want to ensure that our clients have every advantage possible in a competitive digital landscape. My mission is to use data-driven approaches to create a seamless marketing plan that grabs customers, no matter how they’re searching or browsing.

I’ve always loved solving problems. Diving into data and numbers to find ways to move the needle for our clients creates unique challenges and gives me the opportunity to find new solutions to age-old problems.

Prior to joining Seafoam Media, I worked at a direct marketing agency in New York City for 4 years. I learned classic methods for reaching customers and growing brands.

I also worked for the largest online chess website,, for 4 years. I worked extensively on growing our online presence along with managing our analytics for our streaming video content.

I play a lot of chess, despite being deeply mediocre at it. I’m in a bowling league, despite being deeply mediocre at that, as well. I love spending time with my fiance and my dog, which I am fantastic at.

Rachel Sipes: Digital Marketing Analyst

I am one our team's Digital Marketing Analysts! I love digging into the numbers and watching my hard work in PPC and SEO pay off for our clients.

To learn and test.  I want to learn as much about the digital space as possible so I can become a better strategist, analyst, and business partner.  I want to know more about your business and tell you what I know will help you achieve your goals.

The media industry is ever changing.  Something new is being rolled out everyday; something that could help my clients soar.

I started my career 4 years ago in paid media and have been learning about new trends and methods ever since!

I'm excited to work for a company who has a relaxed, trusting, hungry, and dedicated atmosphere.

I love to re-watch my favorite tv shows.  Sometimes while I do this, you will find me tapping into my creative side with some acrylic paints or mimicking some drawings on sketchpad.

Seafoam’s Team of 10 Participates in Seafoam Day Q2 2017

By Seafoam Media
Seafoam Spotlight

Once every three months, Seafoam’s boldest and brightest gather to partake in an event that has been near and dear to our agency since we opened our doors in June of 2010. Dubbed Seafoam Day, these recurring functions represent a time for our team to slow down and enjoy the bountiful fruit of their relentless labor – a time to…dare we utter the word…relax, even if only for a moment.

”Seafoam Day is a ‘stop and smell the roses’ moment for our company. It’s easy to forget how lucky we are to work in marketing for great clients and with amazing team members. Every few months, I want everyone to take a break and get to know each other on a more personal level.” — Nikki Bisel, Owner and Founder of Seafoam Media

Seafoam's team gathering in our office for Seafoam Day
This week’s Seafoam Day is a special occasion, however. Unlike the other three quarters of the year where our team is only able to take a brief hiatus from their busy schedules, Q2 is reserved for a day-long celebration of our agency’s past accomplishments, current goals and bright future.
So, without further ado, here are some of the things our team discussed and the experiences we shared at Seafoam Day Q2 2017.

Morning Discussion: Our Core Values

Like a compass that guides a ship across the Bering Sea, Seafoam’s core values ensure our teams’ hearts always align with our company’s goals.
Every decision we make is influenced by five key values. While these values are strictly for teammates’ eyes (sorry), we can say that these attributes test our ability to satisfy our clients, build uniquely custom marketing strategies, insert humor into the daily grind when applicable (which is almost always), be versatile in a way that empowers us to execute a variety of strategies for various types of clients, and to always persevere, regardless of the breadth of the obstacles we face.

Afternoon Discussion: Getting Down with the DISC-o

For those unfamiliar, the DISC Assessment is designed to measure each teammates’ personality traits, work ethic and other identifying qualities by gauging how each individual exhibits four specific traits:

  • Dominance: Describes the way one deals with problems, asserts him-/herself and controls situations.
  • Influence: Describes the way one deals with people, including communication skills and the way he/she relates to others.
  • Steadiness: Describes one’s temperament – patience, persistence, thoughtfulness, etc.
  • Compliance: Describes how one approaches and organizes his/her activities, procedures and responsibilities.

Since these qualities are uniquely innate to each individual person, there is no right or wrong combination of traits that make up an “ideal person.” That said, when building a team that works as closely together as ours, it is ideal to have a reasonable balance of these traits amongst individuals. Once this is achieved, it’s fun to see how each teammate’s core qualities complement one another.

Evening Event: Painting and Partaking at Pinot’s Palette

After discussing our team’s DISC results over plates filled with food from Boogaloo’s, St. Louis’ Cubano, Creole and Caribe hotspot, the team wrapped up Seafoam Day with an adventure across town to Pinot’s Palette in Webster Groves. If you’ve never been, this unique experience combines two of the best things in the world – wine and art – to help patrons unleash their unabashed creativity. Here are some art pieces our team managed to create in the two hours we spent at the studio…

Thank You!

A large part of being a successful agency means giving gratitude to all who deserve it. Thank you to everyone – from our team, to our clients and even those who allow us to host events at their venues – who made Seafoam Day Q2 2017 possible!
And thank you! The fact that you have found your way to this blog post means that you have most likely helped Seafoam succeed in some way, shape or form. Thank you for your ongoing support in our agency! We wouldn’t be here without people like you.
