A little more about Jennifer:

If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?

If I could have just 1 super power, I would like to fly.  A lot of the times when I’ve got a million things going on, to just fly above everything for a while and clear my head would be so nice and calming.  Also, being able to go wherever I want really fast would be awesome too. 😉

What are you most passionate about professionally? What most excites you about your work and the contribution you can make?

I am most passionate about development professionally. I like taking something that is either given to me by a professional artist or that is in my head and putting it to work. I like problem solving and seeing that I actually made it work in the end.  Seeing the end result of what I do still amazes me that I actually did it!

What apps, software or tools can’t you live without? Why?

Professionally; Dreamweaver, Notepad ++, Photoshop, my laptop of course, and tablets.  Personally: Spotify, Pinterest, and Yummily…those I use daily!

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I LOVE to garden. I’ve got this weird green thumb that just comes naturally. I’m surrounded by plants. I also crochet and paint wall murals. I raise Siberian Huskies. I have also become well versed in the world of Little League Football and Baseball through my sons, so I like to throw a ball around with them. I’ve relearned the world of magic fairies and that Barbie has thoughts of her own through imaginative play with my daughter.

What do you like most about working remotely?

I like the fact that I can be home for the kids if I need to be.  Most of them are either at school or work during the day, but if they need me… I’m here.  Also, I like to be able to get up and go in my kitchen and make lunch or coffee, or whatever it is that I’m needing.  I can throw in a load of laundry for the baseball game coming that evening if I need to. I also like the fact that I can play my music as loud as I want and it doesn’t bother anyone!

What does your workspace look like?

My workspace today is at my kitchen table, but usually it’s in an office I had built in my bedroom when we expanded the house.  It’s a 5ft x 7ft “closet” with a window.  It has a built in desk.  I like it because I was able to make it however I wanted.  I chose everything, down to where and how many outlets I had in there.
