Life is brimming with layers upon layers of detail: the speed of earth’s rotation, the veins stretching throughout a single leaf, the air moving in and out of your lungs — all of it has been designed to fulfill a purpose.
And although the sheer elegance of life’s architecture can sometimes go unnoticed, we at Seafoam Media believe that it is important to take a moment to pause; once the noise of life is silenced, the value of such precision can finally begin to reveal itself. It is within these fine details that the “conventional” becomes the “extraordinary.”
This October, we are opening our office doors and inviting the public to pause alongside us. Join Seafoam Media as we actively demonstrate the ways that purposeful design can create an experience powerful enough to influence desires, decisions and life.

What and Who?

The event is St. Louis Design Week, a seven-day celebration, sponsored by Adobe, where the city’s savviest digital marketing and design firms will have the opportunity to showcase their visual knowledge and prowess. During this time, you will be able to partake in various conferences, workshops and studio tours, including an open house hosted by Seafoam Media.
Refreshments will be served during your Seafoam tour. We also encourage visitors to ask questions and engage with our specialized team members regarding our wide range of expertise. We look forward to speaking with you!

When and Where?

While St. Louis Design Week runs from October 3 through October 9, Seafoam Media’s office tour will be held only on October 4 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are located at 2732 Sutton Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63143.

Any follower of our blog knows how much we love being a part of Maplewood. We love the food, we love the restaurants and we really love all of the fun events. We have crawled our way across Maplewood and we were bowled over during the Taste of Maplewood. For the next act, it's time for Shakespeare in the Streets to take over Sutton Boulevard on September 16th through the 18th.  This free, three-night event will feature food and drink vendors in addition to a brand new play based on the history of Maplewood.

Shakespeare In The Streets Takes On Maplewood

Midsummer Nights Dream Poster from Shakespeare In The Streets
This year's Shakespeare in the Park offering from Shakespeare Festival St. Louis.

Every night this weekend Sutton Blvd. will host Shakespeare Festival St. Louis as they present their newest Shakespeare in the Streets production, Remember Me. This original play features a mash-up of some of Shakespeare's classics; Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and a touch of Romeo and Juliette. The show will play out amidst many of the places that makes Maplewood so wonderfully quirky; so wonderfully weird. The stage has been erected in front of Maya Cafe and across from Saratoga Lanes and will host a play that is guaranteed to delight.
This event has been in the works for the past year; with playwright Nancy Bell, director Lucy Cashion, and set designer Mark Wilson working with local historians, community leaders and residents to craft a tale of the city with a Shakespearean flair. The title comes from the play Hamlet; the phrase "Remember Me" is spoken by the ghost of Hamlet's father. This new work draws on some ghostly inspiration from the bard as Ms. Bell weaves together a fun and lighthearted story. In the play, Maplewood's mayor is getting married. The city's ghosts have a different plan, however, and threatened to ruin the pending nuptials and besiege the city. The mayor and his friends must find a way to appease the ghosts so that the wedding can go on as planned.

A Haunting Occasion

As a free event, Shakespeare in the Streets is a fun and approachable way to bring the stories of Shakespeare to the public. As members of the community, we can't wait to see this new play as it spins together the history of Maplewood with Bard of Avon's more ghostly tales. Patrons are encouraged to grab a lawn chair and bring their appetite as Sutton Blvd. will also host an array of food vendors for the weekend. Sutton will be closed from 6 pm to 10 pm each night, with the show starting at 8 pm. For details on parking you can visit the city of Maplewood's site.
Of course, what would a party in Maplewood be without a little social media flair? For our socially savvy friends, we recommend following the hashtag #SITSMaplewood on Instagram and Twitter. There will be something spooky happening Seafoam's social profiles as well. One of the ghosts of the play will be haunting Seafoam's social media pages, offering insider insights and behind the scenes peeks at the inner workings of "Remember Me."
We encourage you to head down to Maplewood this weekend for Shakespeare in the Street's presentation, but if you can't make it be sure to follow the hashtag #SITSMaplewood to join in on the fun. If you do make it down, be sure to share your pictures from the event! We will see you there.
